About the Owner

Crystal Stapleton, CPA

Crystal has over 24 years of experience in the accounting profession, in both public and private practice. She earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in 2006 and subsequently obtained an MBA degree from California State University, Stanislaus, in 2012.

Crystal is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and QuickBooks certified! She has held various accounting and finance positions throughout her career and has successfully saved companies over one million dollars by redesigning and implementing new business processes. Crystal’s goal is to help your business succeed!

Crystal enjoys traveling with her husband and two children. Crystal’s family is very spontaneous, loves adventures, and enjoys exploring new destinations.

Delia Black

HR Manager

Delia Black joined Balanced Books LLP in November 2018 bringing with her an impressive 27 years of experience in customer service and management. Her extensive background equips her with a deep understanding of employee engagement, leadership development, and operational efficiency, making her an invaluable asset to the team. Outside of work, Delia enjoys cooking, spending quality time with her family, and taking trips to the coast.

Karen Chance

Operations Manager

Karen joined Balanced Books in October 2015. She graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Karen has over 12 years of experience in the agricultural accounting world. Her dedication to excellence, efficiency, and organization makes her a vital member of the Balanced Books team. Karen is also a self-proclaimed Disneyland fanatic and loves any opportunity to experience the magic with her family.

Sean Stapleton

Partner/Outside Sales Representative

Sean is a seasoned leader in sales, marketing, and business development, with expertise in driving growth and innovation. His leadership roles highlight his ability to create impactful solutions and foster lasting client success. Known for his positive and approachable nature, he values meaningful relationships and personal growth. Sean is a devoted family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and children, staying active, and giving back to his community.

Christina Berlanga

Office Manager

Christina joined Balanced Books in October 2023. She has over 30 years of customer service and management experience in the professional and financial services industries. Her mission is to guide people in reaching their full potential and advancing professionally, while fostering trusted, respectful client relationships. Christina enjoys cooking, wine tasting with friends, and spending time with family.

Amanda Greener

Onboarding Supervisor

Amanda Greener joined the Balanced Books team in January 2018. She graduated from Modesto Junior College in 2017 with a degree in History and brings over 12 years of customer service experience to her role. Amanda is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others succeed. She is always eager to learn new skills that contribute to her personal growth and professional development, making her a dependable and valued member of the team. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys camping and spending quality time with her family.

Chase DePrue

Accounting Supervisor

Chase joined Balanced Books in June 2025 after earning his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. He is currently working toward completing his CPA exam and is excited to deepen his knowledge in accounting. He brings nearly three years of experience performing audits for nonprofit, construction, and agriculture organizations. Chase is known for his positive attitude and optimistic outlook, even in challenging situations. Outside of work, Chase enjoys working out and spending quality time with his family.

Randi joined the Balanced Books team in October 2022 with over 5 years of experience working in customer service. She brings a helpful, dependable presence to the team and is always willing to assist with tasks both big and small. Randi enjoys painting, traveling to new places, and spending quality time with her family.

Marketing Coordinator

Maribel joined Balanced Books in August 2025. She earned a double Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Creative Media from California State University, Stanislaus. Maribel is recognized for thoughtful communication, creative problem-solving, and capturing meaningful moments across the firm. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new cafés and restaurants, dancing, and learning new languages.

Andrew joined Balanced Books in November 2022. He graduated from the University of California, Merced with a degree in Management & Business Economics and has over 4 years of experience in customer service. He thrives on learning new concepts, improving his skill set and creating processes and procedures in his work routine. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys going to the cinema to catch the latest movie releases and spending time outdoors hiking.

Chelsie Whetstone

Senior Bookkeeper

Chelsie joined the Balanced Books team in November 2020. She graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. She has over 12 years of experience in customer service and is recognized for her upbeat communication style and her enthusiasm for learning and growing in her career. Outside of work, Chelsie enjoys cruises and spending time with her family.

Jacob came from a valuable background in tax accounting when he joined the Balanced Books team. He graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is recognized for his encouraging nature, thoughtful approach to resolving conflict, and eagerness to expand his knowledge in bookkeeping and QuickBooks. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys trying new foods and spending time with family and friends.

Gabriella joined the Balanced Books team in December 2024. She graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a degree in Business Administration. Logan joined Balanced Books in August 2025. She earned her Administrative Accounting Clerk II certificate from Stellar Career College.
